New Year New Focus

With the start of the new year my plan is to use my blog for more of my creativity to make is more interesting. Here is a start.  This is the layout I did for my mother-in-law's Christmas present.  It is the first time the whole family is together in years.

September

Well the boys are back to school and it has been a busy month. I went to a weekend crop with some friends and completed another 30 pages bringing Vincent's book up to date. I then worked on a few projects that next friday night with another friend.

We poured a concrete countertop in our kitchen. We have a few issues with it, but I am hoping they all work out ok. Vincent seems to have the most confidence in the project. We worked hard on the pour and now it is a wait and see game. I wanted to follow with doing one in my bathroom but I am not sure now. My hope is to have a kitchen back by the end of October. I am getting tired of quick meals on the grill.

There is a lot going on at work making it stressful and hard to concentrate at times. I am not hitting my crafts enough at home to relax. Working space it tight right now.

Busy Month

Wow August has been a busy month so far.
I have been wanting a new countertop in my kitchen since I will not be expanding it. I have done alot of research on them and I have decided to have one out of concrete. I have spent the last two week pouring samples to get the color and look that I want. I am up to 12 samples so far. There is one that I definately don't want to use. The color is so bad. I have decided to try to marble two colors together and to try a white sand. I do not like the gray sand showing through. If all goes well I will be pouring it next weekend.
School starts soon for the boys so time has been spent getting them ready.
This weekend we had our yearly department picnic and it was a good time again. It is always a nice was to get together with co-workers and it not having to do with work.
Today was way to hot for me. It is suppose to be really hot for the next few days. I have not done much scrapbooking lately but I have to get back into the grove.

WOW it has been a long time

It has been a long time since I have posted. Well we have been on the move and very busy. I went to a great scrapbooking weekend with my girlfriend from high school in the spring and we are going back in September. I was able to do 31 layouts in a weekend. What great fun and everyone there was great also.

In May we went to Key west and the boys loved it. I will post some layouts when they are done.

Today I made my first digi layout. It is a simple one but it was fun. I used the autum kit from simplycleandigiscraps.com Have a great weekend

Vacation

I am now into my first complete week of vacation with my children over this Christmas break from school. We went from cold and snow right before Christmas to most of the snow being gone by today. I have enjoyed getting up late, lounging in my pj's, and just relaxing. The boys went skating yesterday and had a great time. Today will be Chinese for lunch and tomorrow we will end the year with them skiing. I of course left my camera at my nephews Sunday so I am unable to take any pictures of these events this week.

Talking about Sunday.......We had a family Christmas party and it was fun just watching the kids interact. The 2 1/2 year old was climbing all over the 16 year old. Vincent took it for about 1/2 hour and then said he had enough. Of course all of this is on my camera still at my nephews.. ugh.

I have tried a new (new to me) technique of stamping in white pigment ink and then coloring it with colored pencils. I like the way it came out.

First Snow

Well we received our first snow storm of the season. We received a good size dump of snow. I am officially done with my Christmas shopping today. Now to finish my Christmas Cards.

I joined a postcard swap for the first time. I hope they came out well enough for the swap. I had never made one before. They can be pretty fun to do. Here is mine with our first snow as of yesterday afternoon.

Scrapbook Circus

Wow it has been a long time since I have been on to write. Work has been crazy and between that and scoutting with my son's there has not been much time for scapping. Hopefully work has settled enough for sometime to have fun.
I just finished a freeze out from the weekend with on of my boys. It was pretty cold (in the low 20's at night) but we all faired well. The boys cooked for the adults and did all of the cleaning.
I did complete a layout using a free download kit from scrapbook circus at http://www.thatsscrapinc.com. At first this was hard for two reasons, 1 I hadn't scrapped a layout in awhile 2 I don't have the pictures to go on it.
